How To Discover Your Spiritual Gifts
Know And Use Your Spiritual Gifts
It is said that 80% of the ministry of the church today is done by 20% of the people. Some Christians feel they have little or nothing of value to offer in service. They have not found any place of service particularly successful or rewarding. They may say, " I can only do the little insignificant things like locking up the building, turning on the lights, and helping to keep the church yard clean." These people may have the gift of helps, but feel that they are unimportant to the Body and doubt that they have a gift at all. Others are willing to tackle any job, but lack a sense of direction and purpose for their ministry. They are doing works rather than having a ministry. Still others are anxious to discover the spiritual gifts God has given them so they will be more alert to opportunities to exercise their gifts with confidence. This is what this course is all about, to help the disciple of Christ discover the spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit has given them so that they can serve effectively in God's Kingdom.
Dr. Clyde McDowell served as President of Denver Seminary. Clyde grew up in Paraguay, South America, a child of medical missionary parents. He has a B.A. from Wheaton College, an M.Div. from Gordon‑Conwell Seminary, and a D.Min in Church Growth from Fuller Seminary.
To honor Dr. McDowell and his love for international students, The Clyde B McDowell International Student Endowed Scholarship Fund was established; it’s purpose is to provide financial assistance for full-time International Students attending Denver Seminary. There is a great need to provide scholarship aid to international students as traditional US government student loans and other aid available to citizens of the United States is not afforded to students from other countries. Forming and equipping foreign students for Christian ministry to and within their own cultural context furthers the mission of Denver Seminary by preparing students to engage the needs of the world with the redemptive power of the gospel and the life-changing truth of Scripture.
